What was Cold Harbor, and what was Lumon actually testing?Fiction

For two seasons the macrodata refiners of Lumon Industries sorted meaningless-looking numbers into bins, and the file named Cold Harbor loomed over Season 2 as the one that mattered. The finale revealed what the numbers were, then stopped short of saying what the experiment was for.   • What made the Cold Harbor room different is that the task called back to a very painful element of the outie's life. The crib in it was similar to the one Mark brought home when he and Gemma were first attempting to have children, before she miscarried, and disassembling it was intended to trigger intense and painful emotions if her severance chip failed to suppress her outie's memories.▰▰▰▱▱ likely4 points
