About Evidiant
Evidiant is a sourced record of contested claims. For each topic we lay out what is established, what is disputed, what has been debunked, and what remains unresolved - with the evidence and a citation behind every line. We present the record; we do not tell you what to believe.
How a page is organised
Every claim on a topic sits in one of four states:
- Established - well supported by reliable, independent sources.
- Disputed - credible sources genuinely disagree.
- Debunked - a popular belief the evidence refutes.
- Unresolved - an open question the evidence cannot yet settle.
Open any claim to see the evidence for and against it, each excerpt tied to its source and source tier (primary, analysis, or summary).
How we research
Topics are built from deep research into primary documents and credible secondary analysis, not a single encyclopedia entry. Where a popular story rests on one origin that many outlets simply echo, we collapse those echoes so the count of genuinely independent sources is honest. We would rather show a claim as unresolved than overstate it.
Which state a claim lands in is derived from that evidence - the reliability and independence of its sources, and whether anything credible refutes it - rather than from an editor picking a side. The short In brief summary at the top of each topic is written by AI from those same cited claims, as a convenience; the sourced ledger beneath it is the actual record, and it is where any correction belongs.
How we weigh sources
Not every citation is equally strong, so each source carries a tier, shown next to it:
- Word of God / authoritative - the strongest. For fiction, a creator's own statement (canon by definition). For real topics, an official or primary body's own record - a report, a resolution, a peer-reviewed paper - authoritative, though still open to revision, not infallible.
- Primary - the work, document, or record itself.
- Analysis - secondary criticism or scholarship about the primary.
- Summary - a third-party press write-up. The weakest tier; a claim whose best source is only a summary is flagged summary-sourced so you can see it.
Each topic also shows a compact grade (a letter for source reliability, a digit for how many independent voices corroborate it), and sources that merely echo one origin are collapsed so the independent-source count is honest. Source tiers are assigned with AI assistance and reviewed by a person; where that review has not yet reached a topic, the summary-sourced flags show it plainly rather than hiding it.
What we don't do
We don't issue verdicts, rate truth on a meter, or pick a side. We don't hide the debunked claims - we show them, struck through, with what they rested on and what refutes them. The interesting part is the evidence, and that is what we put in front of you.
Fiction & lore
The Fiction side applies the same method to invented worlds: claims are judged against the work's own canon - what the games, books, and films actually establish - not against reality.
Who makes it
Evidiant is a Lotlsoft product - a small studio building focused tools. It is made by one developer, alongside the rest of the Lotlsoft tools. Found an error or a missing source? Use the feedback link in the footer, or the "suggest a source" control on any claim; corrections are welcome. That feedback stores only the message you send (and an email address if you choose to add one), used solely to review your correction.
